As a Junior-Intermediate Designer at MAD Architects, Matthew worked on a range of architectural project types and scales, including institutional buildings, infrastructure projects, mixed-use towers, and luxury residential homes.

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

Art Institution :: Los Angeles

The Lucas Museum is an art institution and gallery dedicated to visual, narrative arts. The structure floats over a large park near USC in Los Angeles

Member of the core design team while working as a junior architect at MAD in Beijing. Contributed from schematic design to 100% construction documents. Played a significant role in the design of many interior and exterior spaces, modeled and rationalized complex design surfaces. Worked mainly in 3D modeling, but also contributed to drawing, rendering, and presentation material output.

HyperloopTT Infrastructure Concept

Infrastructure Design

MAD Architects collaborated with HyperloopTT on the development of an elevated, rapid transport system.

Member of the design team as a junior architect at MAD. Designed pylons, tubes, and other modules for HyperloopTT's concept-stage visualizations.

'Mirage' Montparnasse Competition

Design Competition

MAD Architects' "Mirage" design was submitted as part of their competition entry for a renovation of Tour Montparnasse in Paris, France. MAD’s design transforms this huge black monolithic building ─ positioned in the city center ─ into an artistic lighting installation that reflects the city upside down.

Member of the design team as a junior architect at MAD. Contributed to the design of multiple interior and exterior spaces, working in both 3d and 2d design as well as creating presentation materials.
